BACKGROUND: I grew up in the Niagara Falls, N.Y. area. (Youngstown, NY.- which is the location of Fort Niagara-for all you history buffs).
I met my husband Joe (from Canfield, Ohio) in college. During college I was a cheerleader and spent two summers working with missionaries (and learning the language) in the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
EDUCATION: 1979 - Bachelor's Degree - Spanish Education - Greenville College, 1988 - Master's Degree - Counseling and Human Development -University of Dayton
TEACHING EXPERIENCE: 1979-80 - Substitute teaching in Mahoning county, long-term sub in Spanish at Columbiana Exempted Village High School. 1980 - 1988 - Spanish Teacher, St. Thomas Aquinas High School. 1988 - present - Guidance Counselor, Hoover High School. In 2003 I assumed the role of Director of Guidance.
FAMILY: My husband, Joe (Prototype Foundry Manager at PCC Airfoils in Minerva) and I have been married since 1979. We have two sons: Giancarlo, a 2006 graduate of Mount Vernon Nazarene University ~ currently attending graduate school at Loyola University in Chicago, and Gianmarco, a 7th grader at Canton Country Day School.
We are all active at our church, Canton First Church of the Nazarene, where I sing in the choir and work in the nursery. My interests include Creative Memories scrapbooking, collecting Lladro and travel.
