Welcome to the homepage of Hoover High School's outstanding Academic Challenge team. The team is comprised of 16 students ranging from 9th to 12th grade. The Varsity and JV teams' next matches will be on Monday at Perry. Please check the competition calendar for a detailed list of match dates, scores, and other events. A viewer plug-in is available for download from the Hoover High School homepage if you need it.* Thanks to the Viking student section the academic challenge teams pulled out victories against GlenOak last night. The varsity won 63-51 and the JV team won 45-37. This makes their records 7-0. Congratulations to all! Congratulations to the Academic Challenge teams for their victories over Sandy Valley last night. The varsity won 57-44 and the JV team won 40-38. Come and cheer on the teams at their home match next Monday against St. Thomas Aquinas. Congratulations to the Academic Challenge teams over their victories over Perry last night. The Varsity won 54-44 and the JV won 62-17. Good luck to the teams as they travel to Sandy Valley next Wednesday. The Academic Challenge beat Jackson last night with the support of "Victor Viking" and the student section. The Varsity won 69-63 and the JV won 63-40. The team wants to thank the student section for coming to Jackson and showing their support. The team travels to Perry next Monday. Congratulations to the new members of the Academic Challenge team who tried out. They are Matthew Reed, Evan Arnold, Salman Safir, and Dana Cressman. Practice will be held starting on September 28 from 3-4 and every subsequent Monday and Wednesday unless otherwise noted. The first match will be held on Monday, November 2 at home vs. New Philadelphia. There is no practice October 12 and the only November practice is Wednesday the 11th. There is no December practice. January practice is the first day back- Monday the 4th. We are looking forward to another great season!
